chemical properties
white needle crystal. Insoluble in water, benzene, petroleum ether, soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone.
use
1, used in organic synthesis, dye intermediates, pharmaceutical intermediates, photographic industry.
2, is an intermediate for the synthesis of mordant azo dyes
production method
It is obtained from 1, 5-naphthalene disulfonic acid through alkali fusion and acidification. Heat the sodium hydroxide solution to 290 ℃, add 1,5-naphthalene disulfonic acid under stirring, add it between 280-300 ℃, and continue stirring for 30min. Cool and acidify with hydrochloric acid to pH6-7. Cooling, filtering and refining to obtain 1, 5-dihydroxynaphthalene.
